Career counselling

Whether you need a better understanding of yourself or your options, career counselling is always tailored to your needs, goals, choices, and plans for a future that will allow you to be the person you want to become.

Our counsellors have backgrounds in counselling or psychology and can support you in your educational and career decision-making.

Career counselling involves:

  • Looking at your interests, values, skills, talents, and personality and how they can help you form a career direction.

  • Creating strategies to cope with personal issues that affect your view of yourself and your future.

  • Identifying and removing barriers that have stood in the way of achieving your educational and career goals.

Career assessments

Our career counsellors can administer and interpret career assessments. The Myers-Briggs Type Indicator and the Strong Interest Inventory (SII) will provide you with feedback about your personality preferences and interests and how they relate to your career choices.

Myers-Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI)

The MBTI is designed to help you identify your natural personality preferences and provides insight into qualities such as how you make decisions, interact with people, gather information, and get energized. The MBTI does not measure aptitudes, but helps you better understand yourself: your motivations, strengths, and potential areas of growth.

Strong Interest Inventory (SII)

The SII can help you discover your interests. It identifies themes and specific areas of interest and compares the strength of your interests with people in a variety of occupations. It can help you to confirm areas of interest and to identify new options.

Please note there are fees for these assessments that your career counsellor will discuss with you.
