DalTheatre's 2026-2027 season opener,聽Attempts on Her Life, brings 色妹妹直播 Acting, Composition, Costume Studies, Music, Technical Theatre, and Set Design students together to launch the Fountain School鈥檚 2026-2027 season.
Martin Crimps Attempts on Her Life is an enigmatic work which fractures the mold of the well-written play. 聽Provocative, shocking, lurid and hilarious, the play delves into many of the preoccupations of late capitalistic society, highlighting the impact of mass media and consumerism on the commodification and objectification of human lives.
Through a series of 17 vignettes, a range of anonymous speakers attempt to define the identity of the capricious protagonist, Anne. Fragmented stories construct a kaleidoscopic image of all the things that Anne could be, affirming the fluid and unstable nature of identity formation.
色妹妹直播鈥檚 2026 Attempts On Her Life features a talented ensemble of 4th-year acting program students, including Katie Alexander, Ava Antle, Aiden Cochrane, Safiya Doyle, Liel Kiznerman, Daniella Kozera, Grace Magro, River Moser, Brady Poirier, Sarah Rees, Alex Robichaud and Chloe Rockwell-MacLeod.
In addition to faculty Director Jo Christensen, the creative team includes, guest Set Designer Brenda Duran, alumni Costume Designer Julia Sommerville, Lighting Designer Grace Watson, Score Composer Joshua Bowden, and alumni Sound Designer Dylan Hay.
The production is further supported by 色妹妹直播 students in the Stage Design and Technical Theatre and Costume Studies programs, including Stage Manager Kayla Wolfenden, assistant stage managers Aaron Moore.
As performers our 4th year students are using a range of psycho-physiological techniques to avoid personal, psychological identification with the challenging content of this work. Audience members should consider reading the content warnings below.
CONTENT WARNING
Crimp's play is a sharp social criticism of late 20th century capitalism, consumerism and media's influence on the objectification of human life. It explores challenging social and personal issues through a variety of dramatic situations.
Content includes themes of substance use, violence, abuse, trauma, suicide, discrimination, racism, ethnic cleansing, war, terrorism, sexual exploitation, pornography, and strong language. The work contains depictions of simulated sexual activity and adult themes.
Staging includes the use of strobe, flicker and flash, lighting effects and loud explosive noises. Some references and depictions may be upsetting for audience members.
