Salary

$17.70 per hour (also see Welcome Back Rate).  Students will be paid 1 陆 times their rate for any hour worked over 48 in a given pay period (7 days).

Please note that the last night for all staff accommodations is August 21, 2026 (unless returning to residence in Truro for the 26/27 Academic Year).. For those opting out, housing must be within a 5-minute commute to the Agricultural Campus.

What your day will look like

The Guest Services Associate plays an integral role in the efficient and effective day-to-day operations of the Event & Conference Services business. The incumbent will be responsible for the following:

  • Ensure pre-arrival requirements for conferences and summer clients are completed.  
  • Front desk duties including:
    • Answering phone calls
    • Receiving, replying to and sending emails to guests
    • Checking guests into KX system, providing keys and access cards to guests.
  • Responsible to coordinate and perform all check-in and check-out procedures associated with summer guests, such as preparing client invoices and statements, preparing, and issuing keys, and printing and maintaining reports. This is done with the assistance of our conference management database (KX). Receiving payments from guests.
  • Maintain and print reports required through KX, such as arrival/departures, non-arrivals/non-departures, and housekeeping.
  • Responsible to maintain and balance a cash float, which would include closing payment machine and reconcile shift report.
  • Responsible to maintain and update records of daily bednights
  • Responsible to provide information as requested by clients, university regulations, city directions, availability of services, etc.
  • Maintain security of the residence, including but not limited to following sign out procedures for keys and access cards.
  • Any other necessary duties and tasks assigned for the welfare and happiness of Conference Service guests, and for the efficient operation of Event & Conference Services at 色妹妹直播.
  • Guest room preparation.
    • Facility set up.
    • Building attendant responsibilities.
    • Linen duties (making beds, transferring linens, laundering of towels, sorting of linen to go to outside company, collecting linens from outside company, exchanging clean and dirty linens with guests).

What you need to work for us

  • Ability to attend scheduled staff meetings.
  • Ability to attend a paid 5-day training session held April 27 鈥 May 1, 2026 (dates are tentative but will be confirmed prior to interview).
  • Must be an active 色妹妹直播 Student with a minimum grade point average of 2.0.
  • Excellent communication skills, both oral and written.
  • Exceptional customer service and telephone skills.
  • Strong multi-tasking and organizational skills.
  • Strong ability to work with the public, sometimes in stressful situations.
  • Keen sense of professionalism and confidentiality.
  • Ability to work both independently and in a team environment.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, SharePoint, and Teams.
  • Strong word-processing and data entry skills.
  • Ability to respond to a wide range of inquiries from students, staff, various 色妹妹直播 departments, clients, and the public.
  • General knowledge of the Truro area.
  • Required to make cash transactions, balance and correct accounts using cash, Interact and credit card transactions.
  • Previous experience in the hospitality industry a definite asset.
  • Knowledge of 色妹妹直播 residence facilities an asset.
  • Knowledge of KX Software is an asset
