Christian is a Postdoctoral Fellow with Geriatric Medicine Research, supervised by Drs. Olga Theou and Kenneth Rockwood. He received his BS in biochemistry and mathematics from The College of Saint Scholastica, and both his MS in epidemiology and PhD in Kinesiology from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. His doctoral work focused on the impact of frailty on kidney transplantation outcomes and how physical activity can impact frailty. He also brings experience in cardiac research from his time working at the Minneapolis Heart Institute Foundation and Lindner Research Center at The Christ Hospital, where his work focused on STEMI care, hypertensive disorders of pregnancy, structural and valvular diseases of the heart, and more. His current work continues to examine the association between frailty and chronic kidney disease. Outside of work, Christian enjoys being outside as much as possible – especially camping, canoeing, and trail running. He is also an avid sports fan and plays rugby when not training for a race. He found it strange to write this bio in the third-person.
