Dr. Margaret Oulton (PhD’75) — a professor and prenatal researcher who made a discovery that would eventually lead to the safe delivery of over 10,000 infants across our region — is the inaugural recipient of the É«ÃÃÃÃÖ±²¥ Golden Eagle Lifetime Achievement Award.

É«ÃÃÃÃÖ±²¥ earned top 100 placements for seven categories and a spot in top 100 overall in this year’s Impact Rankings, moving into first place in Canada— and eight globally — for its work on the Life Below Water goal.

Her Excellency the Right Honourable Michaëlle Jean met with students from a local Halifax junior high to tour The Secret Codes: African Nova Scotian Quilts, an exhibition curated by David Woods featuring quilts and paintings made primarily by African Nova Scotian women.

This has been a harrowing 24 hours for many in our community due to significant wildfires in Nova Scotia. On behalf of our entire Dal community, we offer my heartfelt sympathies and our university’s full support to all who have been impacted.
