The apples have been eaten, the donations have been collected and the Deans' Challenge winner has been decided.

That鈥檚 good news to Dean of Dentistry Tom Boran: he鈥檒l be pleased to know that he doesn鈥檛 have to pack up the United Way turtle trophy anytime soon.

The Faculty of Dentistry has successfully defended its title in yet again, bringing home top fundraising honours through a series of events such as the dean鈥檚 hot lunch cook off, raffles and bake sales.

Our analysts in Financial Services did note that this year was particularly close, though, with the Faculty of Management nipping at Dentistry鈥檚 heels.

As the United Way campaign officially wraps, here鈥檚 a look at some of the numbers behind the effort:

  • Number of years 色妹妹直播 has been working with United Way: 88
  • Total funds raised by 色妹妹直播 faculty and staff in support of United Way Halifax and United Way Colchester: $172,526.
  • Number of campuses involved in 色妹妹直播鈥檚 United Way campaign: 4 (this is the first year Dal Agriculture鈥檚 fundraising efforts have been included in Dal鈥檚 campaign total).
  • Top fundraisers on campus*

  • Number of years Dentistry has earned top honours: 4
  • Weight of Deans' Challenge prize turtle: 18 kg
  • Total number of leadership donors on campus (individuals who donate over $1,000): 57
  • Total number of 50/50 tickets sold: approximately 2,700
  • Amount 50/50 winner Bradley Thomas took home in November: $2,358

Thank you to all of the Area Coordinators, volunteers, committee members for their efforts in bringing the Untied Way campaign to life on campus 鈥 as well as the President鈥檚 Office and campus community for their ongoing support. United Way co-chairs Donna Bourne-Tyson and Michael Conrad, as well as Marilyn Roberts, deserve special recognition for their leadership and dedication to this year鈥檚 campaign.

*The Deans' Challenge winner is based on a mathematical formula that calculates participation rate: the number of donors within a department [relative to the number of employees within said department] as well as portion rate: how much of the overall university donations can be attributed to the department.聽
