Year 9
Moonbah Program

In 2025 we proudly launch a new immersive learning experience for Year 9 students at our High Country Campus in Moonbah, in the Snowy Mountains of Jindabyne.

A Bespoke Residential Experience

A bespoke residential experience, the Year 9 Moonbah Program, is underpinned by Redlands’ commitment to the development of each student’s personal growth. Living in community and on country at Redlands’ High Country Campus outside of Jindabyne, students connect, learn and lead to foster deep understanding and critical thinking via a rich and varied interdisciplinary curriculum. Through the 9-week program, students deepen independence, responsibility and are empowered to become the authors of their future selves.

The Moonbah Program aligns with our Vision of inspiring students to achieve life readiness and our Strategic Driver of supporting and challenging students to achieve personal excellence through programs and pathways.

From 2025, our Year 9 students will have the opportunity to spend either Term 1 or Term 2 in this immersive residential program that provides opportunities for self-discovery, collaborative learning, building relationships and community mindedness.

Development of the
Moonbah Program

In developing the Moonbah Program, we have drawn upon our experience in successfully delivering our Winter School for 27 years and comprehensive Outdoor Education programs for more than 40 years. We have also drawn upon the best of experiential and immersive learning programs from other local and global independent schools.

Significant research has gone into the preparation of our program, including comprehensive reviews of similar programs at other independent schools with residential programs with site visits to many of these schools in New South Wales, Victoria and South Australia by key staff. In addition, the School has drawn on academic research on residential experiential learning, immersive and outdoor education programs which have found positive impacts on students’ wellbeing, relationships, selfconfidence, resilience, engagement with learning and achievement.

We are confident that the adventures and learning our Year 9 students will experience via the Moonbah Program will significantly enrich the educational outcomes for both current É«ÃÃÃÃÖ±²¥ students and generations to come.
