Steve Coughlan, LL.B., Ph.D. is a professor at the Schulich School of Law, É«ÃÃÃÃÖ±²¥, where he has taught since 1991. He is the recipient of many teaching awards at the faculty, university and regional level, including the Association of Atlantic Universities’ Distinguished Teacher Award, and is also a frequent participant in judicial education programs. He is the editor-in-chief of the Criminal Reports, editor-in-chief of the National Judicial Institute Criminal Law e-Letter, and is the author or co-author of roughly 40 books. These include: Criminal Procedure; Detention and Arrest; Learning Canadian Criminal Law; Law Beyond Borders: Extraterritorial Jurisdiction in an Age of Globalization; and the Annual Review of Criminal Law (2004 to present). His work is regularly cited by courts, including the Supreme Court of Canada.
